Kevin C. Mowbray, BBA, BSc, OD (Doctor of Optometry)

Dr. Mowbray completed a double major in his undergraduate studies: a Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Waterloo.

He received his training in Ocular Pathology and Therapeutics at Houston Eye Associates in Texas - a large Ophthalmology clinic where he observed surgical procedures including cataract removal, retinal laser treatments, refractive corneal surgeries (LASIK and PRK), as well as strabismus correction.

Dr. Mowbray trained and received Accelerated Orthokeratology Certification in Calgary. He has performed this vision restoring technique on patients ranging from 8 to 58 years of age. He does specialty contact lens fits for patients with corneal conditions such as keratoconus and severe astigmatism.

In 2002 he attended the Global Orthokeratology Symposium and was elected as Secretary to the Canadian Academy of Orthokeratologists. He was invited back the following year to deliver a presentation on AOK. He has also been interviewed on CBC Radio, City TV, Shaw TV and he has appeared at the Vancouver Health and Wellness Show to provide information about this exciting vision therapy.

Outside the office he enjoys travel, dj'ing, and photography as hobbies. He has been on volunteer trips to provide vision care to people in third world countries and has visited over 40 countries around the world. Overseas he has picked up some language skills and has taken conversational classes in both Mandarin and Spanish.

City TV also did a feature on Dr Mowbray's 'double life' as both an Optometrist and a Club DJ in Vancouver; you can view that interview by clicking here.
